As the year 2025 draws to a close, the 2025/26 FIM SuperEnduro World Championship season gets underway in Poland. The first of the seven scheduled rounds took place at the PreZero Arena in Gliwice. The track stood out for its design, featuring predominantly technical sections and a slippery sandy surface. Despite the difficulty, the circuit allowed for a high race pace, posing a great challenge for the riders and delivering intense excitement for spectators.
The event kicked off with the SuperPole, where Rieju Factory Team rider Dominik Olszowy, encouraged by his home crowd, was the first rider on track of the night. Eager to shine at his home Grand Prix, he was only able to set the sixth fastest time in the top Prestige class. In fact, Dominik’s performance improved throughout the night. In the first of the three finals, while attacking, he suffered a heavy crash and was left physically sore; nevertheless, he managed to finish the race in eleventh position. In the second final, he improved his riding, but while recovering positions, a mistake in the last corner caused him to lose two places, finishing ninth. In the third and final race of the night, he felt more confident and secure from the start. Olszowy made a good start, maintained a strong pace close to the leading riders, and improved his result to finish fourth. After adding up the three races, the Rieju rider secured seventh place overall in this first round of the SuperEnduro World Championship.
Dominik Olszowy:
“It was a tough first race of the 2025/26 SuperEnduro World Championship. I felt prepared for my home Grand Prix, but I couldn’t push as hard as I wanted on the slippery track in Gliwice. After a heavy crash in the first race, when I was overtaken, I was in a lot of pain and had to fight to reach the finish. In the second final, I tried to overtake in the last corner, but a small mistake cost me two positions. In the last race, I made a good start and rode more safely to stay close to the others. In the end, my 11-9-4 results gave me seventh place overall. I’m disappointed with how the weekend went, but we will come back stronger. Now it’s time to recover and be ready for the second round in Riesa in January. I feel sorry for the team, for their hard work, and for the Polish fans who supported me all night despite the difficulties.”
Eric Miquel wins thanks to an outstanding performance in the FIM Europe Cup
In the FIM Europe Cup, special mention goes to Eric Miquel, who delivered an excellent performance aboard his MR PRO 300i. With hardly any time to train, he demonstrated a very high level in the technical sections while also maintaining strong speed. He dominated both races of the night, an impressive performance that allowed him to beat all his rivals and step onto the top of the podium on his debut.
Among other riders competing on RIEJU machines, Hungarian rider Márk Szőke finished in second position, while Juan Rey took tenth place.
Eric Miquel:
“Everything happened very quickly, as I was called just one week before the race to compete, and I was really excited. Since I barely had time to train—only three days beforehand—expectations weren’t very high, especially as I didn’t know the level of the other riders. From the very first qualifying session, I felt great and realized I wasn’t far off the pace of my rivals, finishing first with a two-second gap to second place, riding comfortably and with a good rhythm. The first race went very well, as I took the lead immediately and managed to pull away with a strong pace. The second race was similar: I got a great start and by the second lap I was already in front again. By managing the race well and keeping a strong pace, I was able to extend the gap once more. I’m leaving with very positive feelings and eager to compete again in the next round and train better. If I can finish the season maintaining these results, I would move up to a higher category next year. I’m very happy with the team and with a bike that performed perfectly—I’m already looking forward to the next race.”
Miquel García – Manager, Rieju Factory Team:
“We are very satisfied with this first SuperEnduro round. Achieving a victory with Eric Miquel is a great result, and we also had several riders competing at a very high level. We will continue working to improve and fine-tune details, but without a doubt this has been a very positive race to close the year.”
The next points-scoring round of the FIM SuperEnduro World Championship will take place in Riesa, Germany, on January 3.
