Mireia Badia double for her sixth Women's victory in the Welsh GP

Rosie Rowett finishes 2nd and 4th, keeping her chances for the runner-up position

Mireia Badia double for her sixth Women's victory in the Welsh GP

The FIM Enduro World Championship celebrated its penultimate round of the 2024 season with the Welsh GP, an event that had not been held in these lands of the United Kingdom for 15 years.

With a very lively crowd, the race brought a lot of anticipation, starting with Friday's technical and fast SuperTest at the Cwmythig Hill location, Rhayader.

On this occasion the weather remained dry, but despite this, you had to be very careful in some areas with several traps in the form of mud pits, where it was very easy to lose time.

During the day on Saturday, Mireia Badia remained at the highest level and despite the attack of her biggest rivals and some mistakes in the form of falls, was placed in the first position, to finish with a new victory in Enduro Women.

Great race also for Rosie Rowett, supported by many local fans, she started strong and attacking, to get the second position at home.

In the second race on Sunday, a new battle for Badia, who managed not only to withstand the attack of his main opponent, but also again on the podium as the winner of this second day, adding some very important points. Meanwhile, Rosie Rowett went on the attack, but a mistake made her lose time, finishing in fourth position.

In the absence of the last round to be held in France in September, Mireia Badia, with 152 points keeps intact all the chances of winning the Women's title, while Rosie Rowett is second with 115 points.

Loïc Larrieu finished the first day's race in eighth place in Enduro3, while on Sunday he improved his result to finish in seventh place. With one race to go, Loïc Larrieu is in eighth place in the championship with 82 points.

Mireia Badia:

"The race weekend went well, as I was able to win both days, Saturday was more complicated because I suffered several crashes, there were a lot of mud pools and it was very easy to get stuck. Today I was able to improve, I only crashed once in a time trial, I managed to keep an adequate distance with the second. Well, I finish very happy and I am very grateful to both the RFME team and the Rieju Factory Team, as they have been helping me at all times".

Rosie Rowett:

"The first home GP for me was crazy. Saturday I started very well and felt strong on the bike, I finished second. Sunday was going well until I made a small mistake in the Cross Test and couldn't make up the lost ground, so I had to settle for fourth, but overall it was a good weekend where I achieved good times."

Loïc Larrieu:

''First time for me in Wales. Nice GP with a lot of different riding conditions. P8 Saturday with some mistakes. Better day on Sunday P7 with more consistency. Thanks to the team for the support and especially for the work in the muddy places to showing me the best lines''
