The fourth round of the FIM EnduroGP World Championship was held in Skovde (Sweden), with the Rieju Factory Team, together with Léo Lé Quéré and Rosie Rowett.
In this case, the competition started on Thursday with the afternoon SuperTest. In a spectacular two-on-two test that combined parts of the track with natural obstacles and another area through the forest, where Rosie Rowett stood out with the best time in the women's class. In this way, the British rider achieved her first world victory at the controls of the MR.
Very happy with her result on Friday, Rowett went out to give her all on the track, which was unusually dry and dusty, which made the special stages quite fast but dangerous. Rosie would finish this first intense day in second place on the podium.
On Saturday she maintained her good form and attacked again, fighting with the leading group, but a small mistake made her lose her podium position, dropping to fourth place.
With these results and after this Scandinavian round Rosie Rowett is in third place in the Women's World Championship, 10 points behind the second, with only one race to go in Portugal from 6 to 8 October. Mireia Badia will be absent in Sweden after breaking her arm last week. The rider has already undergone a successful operation and we wish her a speedy recovery.
As for Léo Lé Quéré, he kept the same positions he achieved in Finland in the top Enduro3 class. On Friday he finished in tenth position, while on Saturday he improved to ninth. After competing in these first four rounds of the season, Léo is in provisional ninth place in the overall World Championship standings, just four points behind eighth.
Rosie Rowett:
"I started the weekend strong, taking the win in the SuperTest, continuing the good feeling on Friday with a good second place. On Saturday I started well again and fought all the way to the end for third place, but a small mistake cost me time and I dropped to fourth. All in all, it was a very good weekend".
Léo Lé Quéré:
"End of 3 weeks of racing in a row!!! There have been good things and not so good things, but we're still moving forward and we're not giving up. Now it's time for a break to recharge our batteries and get our strength back. Thanks to all the team for their support".
The next round, will be held in Gelnica, Slovakia, on 30 June to 2 July.
