Ditrocks Hard Enduro is a competition that scores for the championship of the Romanian specialty, with a duration of three days, two of them on routes between the mountains, with forest trails and technical climbs similar to those that competitors will find in a few days at Red Bull Romaniacs, so their participation is ideal to acclimatize to the FIM Hard Enduro World Championship event, which takes place a week later, with it, Alfredo Gomez, Rieju Factory Team rider, did not hesitate to compete in view of their preparation.
Starting from the town of Ditrău, in the area of Transylvania (Romania), the participants competed on Friday in a SuperEnduro-style prologue test, in which Alfredo Gomez won the final test with a time of 05:24.068.
On Saturday, the competitors faced an intense 90km course on technical trails and climbs, with very slippery rivers that made it difficult to overcome. Alfredo started well, although during the course he had some small problems that made him lose time, not finding the necessary feeling to attack, so he decided to secure and stay without falls until the end, finishing the day in fourth position.
On Sunday, the route through the lush forests was a little shorter, 65 kilometers, although equally demanding, where Alfredo was more confident and went on the attack, to get the victory of this last day, also recovering a very valuable time in the overall standings that made him climb the podium in a magnificent third place finish.
Alfredo Gomez - Rieju Factory Team:
"Very good on Friday as I won the prologue, while on the second day among the forest trails I finished fourth, as I lost about ten minutes due to some little problems and I lacked the necessary confidence with the bike, so I decided to stay calm and not fall, while on Sunday I was already feeling better and I could win the day, recovering the race leader up to a minute forty and the second up to nine minutes, although it was not enough to win and I finished third overall, so nothing, well, already thinking about Romaniacs now."
The next big event for the Rieju Factory Team will be at Red Bull Romaniacs from July 23 to 27 in Sibiu, Romania.
