THE ALL1/RIEJU FINISHES THE DAKAR 2024 AND FULFILS WISH NUMBER 5 OF ÁLEX LLIBRE'S LIST

The 46th edition of the Dakar Rally ended on Friday with the 12th and last stage of a competition that has proved to be the toughest and most demanding since the Rally has been held in Saudi Arabia. It has not been easy to get to the end, but the ALL1 team supported by RIEJU have overcome all the problems that were coming up, moments of suffering, physical and mental pain, but among teammates have been recharged with positive energy to move forward stage after stage.

The first to cross the finish line today was Josep Pedró who had a face of enormous satisfaction, impressive, he had finished and also got the 25th position of the stage, his best record, although his result in the classification was not his main goal.

Meanwhile, his companions did not arrive... At first the news did not look good, Pep Martí had broken something in the engine at km 20 and was stuck, thanks to the solidarity of the experienced rider Javi Vega who came behind, along with Carles Llibre and Javi Amat decided to tow him. They had 145 km of stage left in the sand, with a lot of heat, riding at very low speed, it was very difficult to reach the end, but the tenacious riders took turns and finally made it, they arrived late, tired and thirsty, but they entered close to the time limit with Javi Amat de Caralt in the 100th position. Carles Llibre crossed the finish line no less than 101st, it can not be more touching what sometimes fate has in store for us, he had to be the 101st... Finally Josep Martí entered in 103rd position, last, yes, but totally satisfied with his great teamwork. And at the finish line the emotion was multiplied, their family and friends were waiting for them, sharing the vibrant moment they were living all together.

The ALL1 Team, supported by RIEJU, have shown these two weeks in the race, strong, holding their own in the lowest moments, they have managed to finish four of the six riders, survivors of the race and today they have finally climbed a dream podium in Yanbu as finisher Dakar 2024, a great result in their debut, with which they see their goal and their big dream come true, fulfilling the wish number 5 of the list "101 things to do in life" of Alex Llibre.

Carles Llibre and Josep Pedró told us about their feelings in the last stages.

Carles Llibre:

"Pepe broke the engine at km 25, all day Javi Vega, Javi Amat and I with the ALL1 in vein, we have suffered a thousand, without water, without energy, falls towing .... We have broken all the straps we had to drag, Llovera's truck has helped us, then we got a good sling from a buggy and we have pulled 30km without water and all ko, the sun was killing us ... we did not advance and the Dakar was running out for all of us, we managed to reach CP2 to eat and refuel water and from there I have continued towing Pepe 100 km. By timings the race left us out of the Dakar but we didn't care about the medal, we pulled Pepe to the end, arriving last, but arriving.

The FIM said that we were in the race timings (we arrived before 5 hours) and we took 4 Dakar medals home.

The value of this team is not my medal, nor Javi's or anyone else's, it is to take 4 of this great team.

We had to go up a pre-rusco trial and we pushed Pepe's bike, between 4 of us, we dismounted it, emptied all the petrol in the bikes that were working and started the hellish trial with a deadly heat. It was a narrow pass and cars and lorries kept coming, one of them stepped on Pepe's bike, bursting the carbon carter and scraping the rear wheel, it was km 97 of 176.

And we went on, went on, went on, went on, went on... until the end.

At the CPs, the Dakar medical vehicles have prepared handmade signs of encouragement for ALL1.

Unique!

Josep Pedró:
"Brutal, brutal, very exciting, very nice, the last stage was very fast, we finished the last 20 kilometres along the sea, to arrive and have all the family and friends is amazing, a real luxury. The Dakar has been a Dakar, I loved it".
