The third round of the French Enduro Championship was held last weekend in the French town of Boussac, in the Creuse department.
In the two days of this race, the riders completed three special stages and a mountain course, in a competition that was marked by the typical changeable weather, with very summery temperatures and dust on Saturday, while on Sunday the mud made the race even tougher.
On Saturday, in the Elite E-3 class, the fight for the top positions was very intense, where the official Rieju Factory Team rider, Loïc Larrieu, after achieving good results at the beginning of the day, suffered a penalty that made him drop to sixth position.
On Sunday, the conditions of the special stages were very different, as a heavy storm fell during the night, leaving a very wet and delicate terrain. Despite this, again the E-3 class remained very close, a category where Larrieu was fighting for the podium until the last specials, managing to improve Saturday's performance and finishing in fourth place.
With two races left in the season, Loïc Larrieu is in fourth place in the provisional championship with 73 points.
Loïc Larrieu - Rieju Factory Team:
“Saturday was very hot and with very dusty specials, so it was difficult for me to find good feelings, I was attacking, but I made some mistakes and had a small problem. We solved it, but we were penalized with a minute for not arriving on time... On Sunday, despite the heavy rain and mud, I had a better day and in the first part of the race I set good times. The rest of the day was more difficult, with some problems and a crash.
I want to thank the team for the work done and I am sure we will be stronger for the next races”.
