NEW PODIUM FOR DOMINIK OLSZOWY IN THE GERMAN SUPERENDURO

Dominik Olszowy on the Rieju MR300i repeats in 2nd place in the SuperEnduro World Championship

NEW PODIUM FOR DOMINIK OLSZOWY IN THE GERMAN SUPERENDURO

Rieju Factory Team's Dominik Olszowy once again took second place in the top Prestige class at the end of the second round of the FIM SuperEnduro World Championship, held on Saturday in Riesa, Germany.

The track, set up at the Sachsen Arena, mixed technical areas of sand, logs and stones with other faster parts, making for a more fluid race, in which Dominik Olszowy set the fifth fastest time in the SuperPole.

During the first race of the night of the German GP, Olszowy was a little bit behind the second group of riders and finished the race in fourth position. His team-mate Toby Martyn, still in the learning phase in this speciality, finished tenth.

In the second race, starting from the second row of the grid, Dominik attacked hard during the first lap in the middle of the battle between the leading positions, with a great pace that put him in the first position, although a mistake left the Rieju rider in second place. Martyn improved his position and took ninth place.

In the last race of the day, Olszowy attacked again from the first moments, disputing the victory with the world champion, although the latter ended up distancing himself, while Dominik overtook him, dropping to third place. Despite this, Olszowy scored the necessary points to climb the final podium in a magnificent second place, the same position he occupies in the provisional championship standings with 97 points. These excellent results show that the new Rieju MR300i is also very competitive and efficient in Indoor Enduro. In this third round, Toby Martyn could only finish in eleventh position, while in the final standings, he remained in the same place.

In the provisional classification of brands, Rieju is in second position.

Difficult day for Àlex Puey in the Junior class

In the Junior class, Àlex Puey could not repeat the excellent results of the first race of the season, as there were multiple crashes and clashes among the participants, including Puey. In the first race he could only finish in eleventh position, while in the second race, with an inverted grid, he managed to finish in third place. With the last race of the night, new crashes made him finish eighth. With these results Àlex Puey leaves Germany in sixth place. Regarding the provisional classification in Junior, Àlex is in the third position of the World Championship, two points behind the second.

The third round of the FIM SuperEnduro World Championship, in which the Rieju Factory Team riders will once again take part, will be held in a few weeks' time, on 18 January in Cluj-Napoca, Romania.

Dominik Olszowy:

‘The second round of the SuperEnduro World Championship was fast. I made a lot of mistakes in practice, but in the races I found my speed. After three good races, with fights for the top places, I achieved 4-2-3 and finished second overall. Now it's time to get back to work to be ready for the next round in Romania two weeks from now’.
