Dominik Olszowy and Alfredo Gómez are fifth and sixth in the provisional overall standings of the FIM SuperEnduro World Championship after the second round.

ALFREDO GÓMEZ AND DOMINIK OLSZOWY FIGHT AMONG THE BEST IN THE SUPERENDURO WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP AT THE POLAND GP

In the provisional manufacturers' classification, Rieju holds third place.

The second round of the FIM SuperEnduro 2024 World Championship was held at the Tauron Arena in Krakow, with the presence of the Rieju Factory.

In this Polish race, the track was a bit more technical than the previous one. In qualifying, Alfredo Gómez couldn't get a good time to join the front group, placing tenth. As a result, he started the first of the finals from the second row, finding himself in a lot of traffic in the first few laps and seeing how the front riders quickly got away from him, finishing in eighth place. In the second final, Alfredo did start very well, placing second from the start and maintaining this position for several laps, although he was overtaken and overtaken by the leaders, finishing sixth. In the last final, he started again in the second row and again the overtaking was difficult, but despite this, Alfredo fought hard to finally occupy the fifth position.

Meanwhile, his team-mate Dominik Olszowy was well supported by his fans during the event. In the Superpole this positive energy was already noticeable, as he set the fourth fastest time. From the very start and during the first laps of final one, Olszowy battled from the start in third place, to finish the race in fifth position. In the second final, despite starting from the second row and finding himself in the middle of the pack, he was able to overtake the riders in front of him and managed to get a good fourth place. In the last final of the night, Dominik returned to the front row of the grid and from the beginning he attacked, placing third, offering a good show in front of his fans, a position he kept until near the end, where unfortunately he suffered a crash at the exit of the stones area, falling back and dropping to eighth position, a pity because Olszowy was doing an excellent performance.

With these results, after the second round, Dominik Olszowy is provisionally fifth in the World Championship with 67 points, while Alfredo Gómez is sixth with 63 points. In the Manufacturers' World Championship standings, Rieju is in third place provisionally with 129 points.

The next round will be held after the New Year, on 6 January in Riesa (Germany).

Alfredo Gómez:

"Practice didn't go too well for me, as I could only finish in tenth position, because of that, I had to start in the first of the finals on the second row. I had a bad start, so I fell behind, finishing seventh. In the second final I was able to hold second position for a few laps, although I again finished in seventh place, while in the last final I was better and finished fifth. With the sum total of the three I was sixth, it's not where I would like to be, I think we can be further ahead, but well, we must continue working and evolving the bike to do SuperEnduro. We're already thinking about the next one in Germany, let's see how it goes, but in the meantime we'll keep working".

Dominik Olszowy:

"After the second race I pushed for the final, but in the last race it went badly as I crashed. Despite this, I'm holding on and I'll keep the positives from the weekend. Nothing, we will keep working on the bike. I'm impressed with how we're working with it”
