THE RIEJU FACTORY TEAM OVERCOMES A DEMANDING AND UNPREDICTABLE OLIANA ENDURO

Oliana Enduro, 2nd round of the EnduroGP World Championship and 3rd round of the Spanish Enduro Championship

THE RIEJU FACTORY TEAM OVERCOMES A DEMANDING AND UNPREDICTABLE OLIANA ENDURO

The Rieju Factory Team remains fully committed to competition, and this weekend the team traveled to the town of Oliana (Lleida) to take part in the second round of the 2025 EnduroGP World Championship. This important event also counted as the third round of the Spanish Enduro Championship, although not for the Women’s class.

The races were exciting and tough, due to the inherent difficulty of the competition itself, with three special tests and a changing weather that played a key role in the development of the event.

ENDUROGP

On Friday morning, rain made an appearance, leaving the Super Test slippery, but still dynamic and fast, with very close times. Dominik Olszowy came out strong from the start, but a mistake left him with the tenth fastest time in EnduroGP. Meanwhile, Àlex Puey secured sixth place in the Junior EnduroGP class.

On Saturday, the first official day of racing, the riders found the terrain in optimal condition, but under unusual heat. SuperEnduro specialist Olszowy is steadily adapting to traditional enduro, which was reflected in a solid performance. He posted times that placed him in contention for a top-three spot, but several mistakes ultimately dropped him to 5th place in the premier Enduro3 class and 14th in the overall scratch standings.

In the Junior class, Àlex Puey was fiercely fighting within the top five, but a few minor crashes pushed him down to 6th place in J1 and 13th in Junior overall.

After a hot and summery Saturday, heavy rain fell during the night and into the early hours of Sunday morning. This forced the organizers to delay the start multiple times, eventually modifying the route and shortening the rally.

Under these challenging conditions, Dominik Olszowy took on the race, but several issues complicated his day and pushed him back, finishing 9th in Enduro3. In the provisional World Championship standings, after two rounds, Olszowy sits in 7th place in E3.

Among the Juniors, Àlex Puey maintained his focus and speed. Despite another minor mistake, he repeated his Saturday result with 6th place in J1 and improved to 9th overall in Junior—his best result so far. He now holds 6th place in the provisional standings for Junior1.

Spanish Championship: Olszowy finishes 5th in Enduro3 and Puey 3rd in Enduro1

In the Spanish Enduro Championship, on Friday's Super Test, Dominik secured third place overall, just tenths of a second off second place; meanwhile, Àlex Puey finished second in Enduro1.

On Saturday, the Polish rider managed a brilliant third place in the overall standings, and in the top Enduro3 class, he fought hard for victory, ultimately finishing second.

Sunday's competition proved more complicated for the World Championship riders, who started first and encountered a very muddy and slippery course. This caused them to lose time, which in turn benefited the riders only competing in the National round, who found a drier course. As a result, Dominik could only manage 6th place in Enduro3 and 23rd overall. Taking both days into account, Olszowy ended 5th in Enduro3 and 7th overall.

It was also a tough day for Àlex Puey, who finished 5th in Enduro1 and 18th overall. However, with the combined results from the Oliana Enduro, Puey turns things around and climbs to the third step of the Enduro1 podium.

The next round of the Enduro World Championship will be the GP of Sweden, set to take place from May 23 to 25. The fourth round of the Spanish Championship will be held in Infiesto, Asturias, in mid-June.
