ALFREDO GÓMEZ FINISHES EIGHTH IN RED BULL ERZBERGRODEO

The second round of the FIM Hard Enduro World Championship has taken the Rieju Factory Team riders to compete in one of the most prestigious international Hard Enduro competitions, the Red Bull Erzbergrodeo in Austria.

ALFREDO GÓMEZ FINISHES EIGHTH IN RED BULL ERZBERGRODEO

For three days, the Iron Giant brought together 1,500 participants from all over the world to compete in the Blakläder Iron Road Prologue, a fast selective race where only the 500 best riders advance to Sunday's final. In this race, similar to an enduro section, Alfredo Gómez managed to finish 46th, enough to go through to the final and start on the first row, which is essential if you want to get a good classification at the end of the race. Nicola Grossi finished 60th, Quinn Wentzel 88th, Eric Miquel 95th and Jack Winn 171st.

On Sunday at 12h, the definitive Red Bull Erzbergrodeo race began, where Alfredo Gómez attacked in the early stages of the real hard enduro race, arriving at step 8 in 10th position, a place that despite the hardness of the race, he would keep until over halfway through the course. Before reaching the complicated rocky area "Carl's Dinner", he managed to advance more positions to place seventh, although a technical problem in the breaker "Carl's Dinner" prevented him from continuing to attack at the same pace, despite this, he remained focused on the race until he crossed the finish line in eighth place. It should be noted that in this edition only 17 riders finished within the time limit.

Although they were out of time, Quinn Wentzel reached "Carl's Dinner" in 40th position, with Eric Miquel in the same area in 54th, while Jack Winn was 119th at CP 17, as was Nicola Grossi, who finished 122nd.

Now, the Rieju Factory Team riders are preparing for the third round of the world championship, which will take place in Romania from 25 to 29 July with RedBull Romaniacs, another of the mythical races on the international calendar.

Alfredo Gómez:
"The race wasn't bad, I started off a bit regular and then I went up to seventh position, forming a group of quite a few riders. When I got to Carl's Diner, I saw that I had made a mistake with the development of the bike, with a very long first gear and in the end I ran out of clutch, it's the first time we come here with the Rieju and we have to learn, next year more and better".
