Marc Calmet has been one of the most hard-fought riders of this edition; from the very first special stage, he suffered from the toughness of the race, but despite this, he continued to position himself stage after stage, overcoming the incidents to stay in the race. In the first week, a fall in which he fractured a rib did not prevent him from staying in the race. At the beginning of the second week, a mechanical problem left Marc out of the competition, the Catalan rider was rescued by the organisation, but he arrived too late at the bivouac, losing up to 15 hours in the process... Despite this incident, Marc had the guts and courage to stay in the Dakar Experience, with one goal: to make it to the end of the Dakar 2025, as a brand and personally fight until the last stage, to climb the podium, a desire that he has achieved and we must congratulate him for this great effort.
As for the Bolivian rider Daniel Nosiglia, he has had a very competitive Dakar, with a great performance, a race from less to more, being very regular among the top 25, getting good times in the special stages and saving the problems, even from others, as in the third stage, where his tablet stopped working, leaving him unable to follow the roadbook, Daniel solved it with mastery, finishing in 24th position. Little by little, he climbed up the scratch classification, arriving at the second week very lively and combative, placing him in 19th position overall, in a competition that has shown a high level. Unfortunately a fall in stage eight, in which he dislocated his shoulder, left the rider out of the race, unable to rejoin, as it is not allowed for RallyGP riders.
Josep Pedró arrived very well prepared both physically and mentally, but he had to suffer from the first special stage, as he could only do the prologue stage clean, while in the first stage, a breakdown caused him to lose a lot of time, leaving him out of the race. Josep rejoined the Dakar Experience, returning to the competition with the illusion and impetus to finish another Dakar. At the beginning of the third stage Pedró suffered a heavy fall in which he fractured two ribs, one of them with displacement, resulting dangerous for his health. He reached the end of the stage in great pain and was forced to retire.
Although the results have not been what we expected, we are proud of the team we have, facing all the difficulties and doing a magnificent job by everyone during these two intense and competitive weeks.
Marc Calmet:
‘Dakar 2025 is over! What a week we've had! The truth is that we have suffered injuries, for my part a broken rib, technical problems... But well, we have overcome it, we have all pulled together, we have given each other motivation because it is not easy and in the end we have arrived, I have arrived, but we have all arrived in the team, both my teammates and my mechanics, as well as the media. We are all one and I am very happy to be able to take Rieju to the finish line of the Dakar’.
Dani Nosiglia:
‘It has been a super tough Dakar, the toughest I have raced in the seven editions I have competed in. The first week was really demanding, with very difficult and long stages. But well, I think it has been a very good Dakar as far as I could, I was doing a very good race, fighting with the official teams and with the best riders in the world, with a standard bike, so I am very happy with my performance until the fall I had on stage eight, and unfortunately due to physical problems I had to abandon, with a dislocated shoulder and a strong blow to the head. I'm happy to be back home and obviously 100% focused on recovery and to come back stronger’.
Josep Pedró:
‘We have just come to the end of the Dakar, I had to experience it from the other side of the world, from home for a large part of the rally. It's the dark part of the Dakar, the part you never want to experience, nor do you want it to happen to you, but well, everything makes you stronger. We have learned a lot of things from this rally and probably in the future we will put them into practice and they will help me to be a better rider and a better professional. We will try to make the most of it’.
Miquel García, Manager RIEJU:
‘The truth is that the final result was not what the whole team deserved, but in the Dakar you know that the hard work behind each member of the team is not always done justice. In any case, at Rieju we feel very proud of the team, of the great family that they have been, they have always gone all out to help the last rider we had left in the competition. We are proud of this pride and of the magnificent work done by everyone’.
