ERIC MIQUEL, FIM SUPERENDURO EUROPEAN CUP CHAMPION WITH RIEJU!

This Saturday marked the conclusion of the 2025/26 FIM SuperEnduro World Championship with the seventh and final round held in France, specifically at the Expo Douai Gayant venue in Douai.

ERIC MIQUEL, FIM SUPERENDURO EUROPEAN CUP CHAMPION WITH RIEJU!

More than 6,000 spectators enjoyed the different battles on one of the longest and widest tracks of the entire series. The circuit combined technical sections with high-speed areas, made possible by the exceptionally large space of the French venue, where the remaining titles in the Junior class and the FIM European Cup were decided.

In the Prestige class, unfortunately Dominik Olszowy was unable to compete in this final round as he is currently recovering from a knee injury sustained at the previous GP of Great Britain. As a result, he finishes the season ninth in the final overall standings with 134 points.

It has been a great season for Éric Miquel. The 2025 Spanish Hard Enduro Vice-Champion competed in the FIM European Cup aboard his innovative MR300i. Éric dominated most of the races throughout the championship, with the exception of a third place in the first race in Riesa. In his first season in European SuperEnduro, Miquel arrived at the French GP as the clear favourite, holding a comfortable 115-point advantage and knowing that with such a margin the smartest approach was to ride more conservatively to secure the title.

However, the final races of the evening turned out to be more eventful than expected. After setting the fastest time in the Pole, Miquel found himself on track with a rival who attempted to make the race difficult for him with unsportsmanlike behaviour. Because of this, Éric had to defend his position and suffered a couple of crashes, dropping back in the standings. Nevertheless, he kept calm and began an intense recovery ride, eventually finishing the first race in fourth place — a result that secured the points needed to clinch his first SuperEnduro European Cup title, even before the second race was held.

In the second race, the Rieju rider experienced similar incidents again, finishing in fifth position. However, the title was already secured thanks to the 139 points he accumulated throughout the championship.

The entire Rieju family is proud of this fantastic season and congratulates Éric Miquel for his professionalism and hard work in securing another title for the Spanish brand.

Éric Miquel:

“Honestly, I’m very happy and proud to become European Champion. Initially, I didn’t plan to compete in SuperEnduro, but at the last moment I was offered the opportunity. In the end everything worked out very well. It’s a shame that the final race didn’t go so well because rider number 10 spent the entire competition trying to make me crash. Despite that, I managed to finish fourth and fifth, with crashes in both races and having to recover from last position back to the front. It’s a pity not to have finished on the podium in this final round, which would have been great, but we got the points we needed, had good races and achieved the best time in the pole, so we know we have good pace. We just need to build a bit more feeling with the discipline since it’s our first year and we haven’t had much time to train. Looking ahead to next season, I would like to compete directly in the SuperEnduro World Championship and aim for good results.”

Miquel García – Manager, Rieju Factory Team:

“We decided to compete in SuperEnduro with Olszowy in the World Championship and Miquel in the European Cup, and we are very happy for Éric and for the brand. He has shown a great level, finishing all the races and winning almost every heat in his debut season in the SuperEnduro European Cup — a discipline in which he had no previous experience. Even so, we trusted him and supported him. He is part of the Rieju family, and he has also demonstrated the competitiveness of our MR300i in indoor enduro. We want to congratulate him for continuing to add titles to Rieju.

As for Dominik, the championship did not go as well as expected. He started the season injured and finishes it injured as well. Hopefully next season will go much better.”
