Loïc Larrieu improves positions in the Slovakian Enduro GP

The EnduroGP World Championship held the fifth round of the season in the city of Gelnica (Slovakia), a race in which Loïc Larrieu was defending the Rieju Factory Team, competing in the E-3 class with the MR 300 Pro, taking into account that this competition was not scoring for the Women's class, where the team leads the provisional standings.

Once again the test was very demanding, both for the riders and the machines, in a Slovak GP under very high temperatures, unusual in the area. The SuperTest took place on Friday, among artificial elements, where a crash left Larrieu a bit touched.

On the following two days, the competitors were faced with long special stages in the forest, some of them dry and hard, but others on soft, muddy and technical terrain, which required a lot of fine-tuning. During the weekend, the French driver set some good times, although several mistakes complicated the competition, despite this, he overcame the adversities to finish in seventh position, both on Saturday and Sunday.

With these results, Larrieu is in ninth place in the provisional E-3 classification, just one point away from catching the eighth-placed rider.

Loïc Larrieu – Rieju Factory Team:

"First I want to thank the team and especially Miquel, Andreu and Ivan, because just before this GP I was in Spain for some testing and I am happy with this new configuration of my bike.

As for the race, I started well on the first lap of the SuperTest on Friday, but I crashed hard on the second lap. It's difficult to start the weekend like this, but I fought every day to get the best possible results.

In the end, after some mistakes and errors, I also made some interesting specials, getting a double seventh position in the E-3 class.

Step by step I keep learning the riding style of a two-stroke and I think we are on the right way to get better results in the next races.

Thanks again to the whole team for the great work under such hot conditions."

The next round of the World Enduro Championship will be the Welsh GP from August 2-4.
