POSITIVE GP OF SLOVAKIA FOR THE RIEJU FACTORY TEAM

Léo Le Quéré improves his results and finishes the two days of competition in sixth position in E-3.

POSITIVE GP OF SLOVAKIA FOR THE RIEJU FACTORY TEAM

On the occasion of the Slovak GP, the fifth round of the Paulo Duarte FIM EnduroGP World Championship, the Rieju Factory Team travelled to Gelnica, a competition in which only French rider Léo Le Quéré took part, as it did not count towards the women's world championship.

On this occasion, unfortunately, the start of the race was marked by the serious accident of Slovak rider Jaroslav Diro shortly after the start of Friday's Super Test, where he lost his life in an unfortunate accident, which led to the cancellation of the afternoon event. We at Rieju would like to send our condolences to his family and friends, D.E.P.

On Saturday, the riders had to ride as usual through three special stages, which curiously were on very different terrain. The Cross Test had very dry parts, while the special stages in the forest were more delicate and slippery, with several muddy puddles that complicated the riders' passage, making the event even tougher.

The top E-3 class this season is proving to be very competitive, with several riders in contention for the top positions. Léo Le Quéré, with a somewhat irregular performance, finished the 12 special stages of the first day in 6th position. On Sunday, with the onset of rain, the terrain became even more complicated, although Léo had a race that went from strength to strength, demonstrating his qualities, improving his lap times on the last lap and finishing in sixth place again.

With the Slovakia race over, there are now only two races left to complete the World Championship, which will be held in Portugal after the summer break. Léo Le Quéré is provisionally placed ninth in the E-3 class and 9 points behind his closest rival, so he will be looking to improve his position for the end of the season.

Léo Le Quéré:
"This weekend I felt better on the bike after changing some settings, despite that, I was sick all week, so coming into the race weekend my fitness didn't help my performance. We will keep working in this direction and we will not give up. I want to thank Rieju and the whole team for their involvement".
