FRANCESC MORET FINISHES THIRD AT THE HARD ENDURO LA CLUA DE BASSELLA

On Saturday, the low temperatures of the first hour of the morning left the ice and rather slippery terrain, which complicated even more the step of the participants.

The most outstanding Rieju Team rider was Francesc Moret at the helm of the Rieju MR Pro, who completed a good performance, finishing with the second best record in official training. The new signing, Pau Tomás took advantage of this Hard Enduro test to train for his next participation in the traditional enduro, finishing with a good seventh time in the morning, while Eloi Salsench did it in the 15th position.

On Sunday, the route was longer than on Saturday, with new areas very technical, which brought greater difficulty and toughness to the test. With slightly higher temperatures and a very dry terrain, with the passage of the turns the intense dust was present.

In the first laps Francesc Moret was placed in the second provisional place, but soon after suffered a small damage, losing a few minutes. He solved it and continued to attack, holding up well the high pace of the other top riders, finishing in third place on the podium scratch. Pau Tomás, who debuted in this specialty, was attacking from the beginning of the race, but halfway through the competition, he hit the clutch cap hard, with the relevant oil loss, so he was forced to retire. While Eloi Salsench, with several falls, one of them of consideration, lost quite a lot of time, delaying in the final classification, still recovered, getting to finish in an outstanding seventh scratch position.

Francesc Moret: "In the beginning of the race I have placed myself among the best riders, but soon I have suffered a setback, thanks to the advice of the manager I have been able to solve it, losing some minutes. Then, as there was much race left, I tightened and I was able to maintain a high pace. When I reached the last laps, logically, I was tired, I continued to try not to make mistakes and I recovered time, to finish in third place scratch. I am very satisfied with the result and with the great work of the team".

The second round of the Spanish Hard Enduro Championship will be held on the weekend of 12 and 13 February in Cantoria, Almería.
