Again, the event has had a spectacular figure of more than 1000 drivers between the different categories, with exciting races carried out on a double day. On Saturday morning, while the riders were making the reconnaissance lap, they were accompanied on this occasion by the Dakarian riders, Joan Pedrero and Marc Calmet, along with Willy Foxx.
Meanwhile, in a highly themed Bassella Race1 paddock, Rieju featured a special version of the MR300 Limited Edition 80 Anniversary. A true replica of the 1984 MR80 Competition that brought many wins to Rieju, model that surprised and fascinated the attendees and press gathered there.
In the afternoon several races were held, including the main course of the day, the Xtreme Race, a series of short but very explosive races, where riders made a tour combining parts of Hard Enduro between the forest and others with artificial elements. Despite the rain falling before the test, the specialists of the Rieju Team achieved good starts, enduring the intense pace of the best, passing all of them to the final, with Eloi Salsench who finished in an excellent fourth place scratch, with Francesc Moret, who in his first participation suffered some falls, recovering quickly and crossing the finish line in the fifth final position, while Pau Tomàs, also fell, but achieved his goal, get a good 19th place for the start on Sunday.
Eloi Salsench: "Luckily, I have been able to go very well, both in the semifinals, as in the final, enduring the pace of the race without making mistakes. In a race as intense and short as this, it is very important not to fail and to be constant. This year the circuit was a little easier and faster, I prefer it to be more technical, but good. Very happy with the bike, with my riding and with the performance, we hope to stay that way for the next test".
Francesc Moret: "It was the first time I competed here and I’m happy, even though I made some mistakes at first, I finished sixth. In the final I have gone a little behind, but I have been recovering until I placed provisional fourth, shortly after the end I have fallen in the area of the stones when I skated the bike in front and I have passed two riders, I have continued attacking and despite getting very close to Eloi, entering almost together, I finished fifth behind my teammate. Very happy with the experience and the team for the great work they are doing".
On Sunday, the specialists of the Hard Enduro, Salsench and Moret did not leave in this test, to be reserved for the next competition to be played shortly, while the rest of the drivers of the brand, If they faced an enduro course of about 65 kilometers to complete in two laps, where the riders were with areas of water, ice, mud and other very dry parts with great dust. Luckily the rain fell in the middle of the morning, it helped improve his condition.
Again the Bassella Race1 started very powerful, where the riders marked a high pace of race from the beginning, Pau Tomás was placed among the top five riders, fighting for the top five, in a first round where the positions were constantly changing, despite the fact that it was difficult the overtaking between the trails of this test. After passing the second lap, the riders met other slower participants, making it very difficult to maintain a good position, in the end Pau Tomás crossed the finish line in a magnificent fourth scratch position, among the best Pro riders. While Mireia Badía, shortly after the start was dropped in the rise of the RedBull arc that fell and fell in full step of the drivers, forcing Mireia to climb and regain positions throughout the race, still ending in an outstanding 13th position in Pro. On this occasion, the manager of the team, Miquel García, signed up in the Friends 40 class, getting the victory. In the class 1Pro Junior, highlight the fourth place of Pau Pera.
Pau Tomás: "It has been a very nice race, since the start we have taken a very high pace, with a pinch against my rivals in the fight for top 3, as the moment I was third or sixth, finishing the first lap all quite together, we have continued like this and little by little of the end of the route, we have found doubles and this was a lottery, looking for places to be able to advance, fighting until the end. At the end of the fourth scratch, so I am very happy with the pace I have taken throughout the race, very quiet and comfortable with the bike, which was precisely standard. Thank the team for their great work throughout the weekend."
Mireia Badia: "I started a little badly, since shortly after the start in the climb of the arch, I have fallen as it has deflated and I have hooked, then I have had to climb on a very narrow route that was difficult to do, but in the end I ended up very happy as I feel very well with the Rieju, enjoying a lot of the bike and the race, finishing in the 13th scratch position".
