VICTORY AND CHAMPIONSHIP LEAD FOR ERIC MIQUEL AT THE SUPERENDURO OF RIESA

The Rieju Factory Team competed last Saturday in Germany at the second round of the FIM SuperEnduro World Championship and the European Cup 2025/2026, achieving mixed results in an event held at the WT Energiesysteme Arena in the city of Riesa.

VICTORY AND CHAMPIONSHIP LEAD FOR ERIC MIQUEL AT THE SUPERENDURO OF RIESA

Despite freezing temperatures, the stadium was packed with enthusiastic German fans who did not want to miss the performance of the world’s best riders in this competition, which kicked off with the SuperPole. Dominik Olszowy was the first to take to the track, setting the seventh fastest time in the Prestige class.

Unfortunately, during the World Championship final, with three races on the schedule, Olszowy faced several issues and struggled to find his rhythm. In the first race he finished ninth; in the second, starting in reverse order, he suffered a crash and was unable to finish; and in the third and final race of the night, he improved his performance to finish fourth. As a result, Olszowy leaves the Riesa GP in tenth place overall in the Prestige class and sits seventh in the provisional World Championship standings.

New victory for Éric Miquel in the FIM European Cup

The evening was much more positive for Éric Miquel, who once again proved highly competitive in the European Cup. In the first race, a mistake dropped him to last position, but he pushed hard, even setting the fastest lap while fighting back through the field. He eventually secured third place. In the second race, Éric once again showcased his speed and technique by taking the lead from the very first corner and holding it to the finish.

With these results, he climbed once again to the top step of the final podium, claiming his second victory of the season and maintaining his lead in the Cup standings.

Meanwhile, Juan Rey finished sixth in the first of the two finals, while in the second he made some mistakes that dropped him to thirteenth place. Combining both results, Juan finished ninth overall in this second round of the FIM European Cup, where he also holds ninth place in the provisional standings.

Dominik Olszowy:

“The German Grand Prix hosted the second round of the SuperEnduro World Championship, where we had to face an extremely slippery track in Riesa. I struggled to find the right feeling from the first practice session, managing only seventh place in the SuperPole. In the first race, after a bad start and a few mistakes, I finished ninth. In the second race I suffered a heavy crash on the bridge; after hitting my elbow against a rock, I was forced to retire. In the final race I had a much better start and fought for the top positions until I eventually finished fourth. Now we have two weeks until my second GP almost at home, in Spain. I know what I need to work on and I will give my best to be ready for Bilbao.”

Éric Miquel:

“During practice things didn’t go too well due to heavy traffic on the track, which prevented me from finding a good rhythm. In the first race I started slightly to the left and had to take risks, but it didn’t work out and I ended up last. From there I had to fight my way back through the field until I could see the two riders leading the race, but I couldn’t catch them as there are only a few laps, finishing third. In the second race I got a great start and took the lead in the first corner, with good, consistent pace, holding off the rider behind me. With two laps to go, the rider behind—who had won the first race—crashed, allowing other competitors to pass him. This, together with my win in the second race, meant we were tied on points, but I was awarded the overall victory. I’m very happy and proud of all the support from the team and the great feeling with the bike, which worked really well.”

The third round of the FIM SuperEnduro Championship will be held in Spain, specifically in Bilbao, on Saturday, January 17.
