RIEJU will take part in Dakar 2027, to be held in Morocco, with an unusual project: its Rally 307 will be ridden by August Castellà, the engineer who led the bike’s development in the company’s R&D department. It will not be a machine designed from scratch purely to compete, but a production bike prepared for rally raid.
Before the Rally 307 reached dealerships, Castellà had already raced a prototype in a rally through Morocco, Mauritania and Senegal, an experience that led to 127 improvements being built into the model. He has recently completed the Rallye du Maroc on the bike, a round of the World Rally-Raid Championship, against the larger-displacement machines that dominate the category.
“We haven’t built a specific bike for the Dakar, but we want to show that, with a Rally 307, you can do it.”
“This bike is designed to go with you on any adventure you want to live. I have spent practically the last two years of my life preparing for this challenge, and I’m approaching the Dakar confident that I’ve done my homework,” says August Castellà, Rally 307 Project Manager.
“August is a great example of how we understand development: he’s the engineer who worked on the bike, and the one who rides it knowing its limits,” says Jordi Riera, CEO of RIEJU and grandson of the founder.
For RIEJU, the Dakar will be a real-world test of performance and reliability. The company, founded in 1934 and based in Figueres, wants the lessons learned in the dunes, on the tracks and through the long navigation stages to help further refine the Rally 307 and its future models.
