Dominik Olszowy excels in the first round of the AMA EnduroCross Series

The AMA EnduroCross Series kicked off last weekend with the first of six rounds at the Broadmoor World Arena in Colorado (USA).

Polish Rieju Factory Team rider Dominik Olszowy shone from the start on his MR 300 6Days, setting the fastest time during the fastest lap qualifying, stopping the clock with a time of 32.782 seconds, which set the starting order for the first of the three heats.

In the first heat, Dominik was battling for the win, defending very well against his competition, to finally achieve a superb second place.

The second heat was characterised by a reversal of the starting order, with the best-placed riders starting from the second row. With many riders at the front, Olszowy struggled to avoid the traffic jams and suffered a crash in which he lost a lot of time, finishing tenth.

In the third and final race, the Rieju rider, despite crashing again, improved his times, crossing the chequered flag in seventh position.

In the final classification of the Colorado race, Dominik took seventh place, the same as in the provisional championship overall.

‘I'm happy with my performance in the hot laps and the first main, but the crash in the second main was disappointing,’ said Dominik. ‘It's all part of the sport, and I'm looking forward to improving ahead of Prescott.’

The team is optimistic for the season ahead and hopes to build on this solid start.

The AMA EnduroCross Series continues on October 19 with round two at the Findlay Toyota Center in Prescott Valley, Arizona.
