Oriol Mena made his debut with eleventh place and Joan Pedrero, also placed in the top 20 of the classification.
Mena completed the route in 3h 26 minutes and 55 seconds, 8 and a half minutes behind the leader of the stage, Toby Price, he was satisfied with the results obtained, he himself told us:
"After a year and a half without making a roadbook my goal was to focus on navigation, pick up the pace little by little, adjust the speed with the reading of the roadbook. I think I have done well, I have met the objectives that I set. I have not had any navigation errors, I have not crashed. Happy with the rhythm, after refilling a little better. This has just started. "
Very good feelings on the first stage of the Dakar for all the drivers. We are very proud of the results.
• Oriol Mena in 11th place on the stage and 13th overall.
• Joan Pedrero in 17th place on the stage and 20th overall.
• Marc Calmet in 50th place on the stage and 51st overall.
