RIEJU FACTORY TEAM RIDERS SHINE WITH A GREAT PERFORMANCE IN THE SPANISH CHAMPIONSHIP

An abundance of podiums for the Rieju Factory Team in the main categories of the Spanish Enduro Championship in Pontevedra, with Mireia Badia winning the Women's category, Lé Quéré second and Olszowy third in E-3, with Tomàs also third in E-1.

The town of A Estrada, in Pontevedra, held the penultimate round of the Spanish Enduro Championship on a terrain that was in perfect condition thanks to the rain that fell overnight on Friday and Saturday, leaving some ideal special stages in which the Rieju Factory Team riders obtained very good results.

After the SuperTest on Friday afternoon, the first real day of competition on Saturday saw a good performance by Frenchman Léo Le Quéré in the E-3 class, who fought an intense battle with Jaume Betriu for the victory. The two riders took turns to set the best times in the special stages until the end of the day's 12 special stages with Le Quéré in second place, but only 30 seconds behind the leader. On Sunday, the same fight intensified, with Lé Quéré refining his driving and taking a hard-fought and well-deserved class victory.

This race saw the debut of Rieju Factory Team rider Dominik Olszowy, a rider from Poland, who despite his youth is the 2022 SuperEnduro Junior World Champion and a regular in the Hard Enduro World Championship. Olszowy surprised in a speciality that is not his own, with some times similar to Le Quéré, to finish on the podium in third position in E-3. On Sunday, with a competition that is tightening up, Dominik finished fourth. In the sum of the two days, Léo Le Quéré finished on the second step of the podium and Olszowy as third.

Mireia Badia started the first day a little bit on the sidelines, getting the hang of the terrain according to her, the truth is that she set the best times in all the specials, clearly achieving the victory among the girls. On Sunday, despite a fall in the first special stage, she recovered quickly to win again, leaving Galicia with two victories that allow her to continue leading the women's class and already close to a new title that she could win on the first day of the last round of the national championship.

For his part, Adrià Sánchez started very well on the first lap, with a good feeling, although a fall in the second enduro test of the day made him lose confidence, finishing 7th on Saturday in the E-2 class. On Sunday he repeated the classification. Pau Tomàs maintained his line, with a very regular participation during the whole weekend, obtaining two third positions in E-1.

Léo Le Quéré:
"Good weekend in general, I only lacked rhythm in the second part of the day on Saturday, while on Sunday I was more regular with my times, feeling satisfied with my day. Many thanks to the Rieju team for a great weekend. Now we are heading towards the end of the French Championship in Requista".

Dominik Olszowy:
"I am very excited to make my debut in Spain with my new Rieju MR 300 in the Enduro Championship. We got a podium in the E3 class but, more importantly, I'm starting to understand and feel the bike better. It's a pleasure to be in the factory team and to work with professionals like this. I'm looking forward to the next race!".

Mireia Badia:
"Well, Saturday was pretty good, I started from less to more and I improved progressively. In the end I felt better in the time trials and I was able to win with a good time margin. On Sunday, however, I crashed in the first time trial and I dragged it a bit throughout the day, but in the end we were able to get ahead, we held on well and I was able to win again".

The last round of the Spanish Enduro Championship, which this time has triple points, will take place in La Torre d'Oristà (Barcelona) in mid-October.
