The arrival of the electrifying new RIEJU E-Tango on the market in 2024 has caused quite a stir among thrill-seeking enthusiasts. So much so that the Spanish brand has decided to crown its launch by offering, alongside its OffRoad model, a 100% Supermotard version, homologated as a moped and registrable, aimed exclusively at the most urbanites.
The new E-Tango SM shares the same platform and 4 kW electric motor (L1E) as its OffRoad counterpart, with energy regeneration function, removable battery with 43 AH capacity for long range and fast charging, plus the 3 available power maps: Turtle Mode, Rabbit Mode and Rocket Mode.
Technically, this is a very similar bike: High-strength steel perimeter frame, fully adjustable inverted fork with 200 mm travel, adjustable monoshock shock absorber anchored to connecting rods, hydraulic front and rear brakes with 4-piston caliper and 210 mm diameter disc and 17" wheels, which allows for a comfortable and low seat height of 830 mm.
In addition, both the Supermotard and OffRoad versions are fitted as standard with an important new safety feature, which is very useful regardless of the model chosen, and that is the implementation of the Electronic Security Key. A Magnetic Key which, in addition to acting as an Anti-Theft Device, causes the Automatic Engine Shutdown in the event of a fall with the aim of shutting down the bike instantly and reducing risks.
