Today's stage should have been the second day of the marathon stage. It means they should have taken to the track without assistance. But the latest modifications made today's stage an ordinary one. The main scenery that the riders and drivers encountered was the dune ridges.
Starting with the bikes, the best rider today was Joan Pedrero, who finished 26th. The rider from Canet was a bit uncomfortable during the first kilometres because he started with too much fuel, but he was able to recover his pace in the second part of the special. Daniel Nosiglia, after missing out on the top 20 yesterday, finished the special in 30th place and remains 19th in the general standings. The Bolivian rider was more conservative on the second part of the special. Marc Calmet finished 80th and is 64th in the general standings, whilst Pato Cabrera continued to climb up the standings after having lost a lot of time on stage 1B. The Chilean driver has climbed 12 positions and, with today's 42nd place, is 68th overall.

Joan Pedrero #17: "I'm happy, although in the first part of the stage I wasn't very comfortable because I started with a lot of fuel. I had 30 litres of fuel and it was very noticeable".
Pato Cabrera #50: "Today we had a fast stage, with dune sections. I had a lot of fun, I got into a good rhythm and I'm very happy and motivated for the next few days. We are doing well”.
