VERY DEMANDING SPEED, TECHNIQUE AND NAVIGATION - STAGE 10 - 12TH JANUARY 2022

The Dakar 2022 is coming to an end and today's stage was not exactly a formality. The competitors had to complete a total of 758,56 km on a day that started in Wadi Ad-Dawasir and finished in Bisha.

The special stage was 374,58 km long and was 63% sand, 32% gravel, 3% stones and 2% dunes. The 384,18 km liaison was divided between the 223,21 km to the start of the timed stage and the 160,91 km back to the bivouac.

Once again, the special stage had two distinct parts, with a very fast first half and a second one that was a little more technical and demanding navigation. Daniel Nosiglia completed another remarkable stage, considering how tight the category is and how long the time trial was. The Bolivian rider finished in 21st place, but only 11'56" behind the leader, and with this result he climbs up to 17th place in the general standings.

Joan Pedrero had another solid day, with no crashes and a good pace, despite the fact that this type of stage does not favour the rider from Canet, who today finished 26th and 21st in the scratch classification for bikes. Pato Cabrera has climbed four more positions in the general standings, where he is 38th after today's 40th best time. And Marc Calmet has linked his third consecutive day improving his results both in the special stage - today he was 49th - and in the general classification, where he has climbed from 59th to 56th position.

Joan Pedrero #17: "The first 200km felt like MotoGP, with 120km/h averages. The second week has been hard for me because the specials are very flat and fast. You can really feel the difference compared to the riders who weigh 30kg less than me. Luckily the second part had more navigation and technique and I enjoyed it more. I'm happy because the bike is in good shape and we didn't have any crashes. The guys in front are not failing at all. In South America things happened with the heat and the engines but this time it's not like that. The mechanics are doing a great job and the bike is working perfectly".

Daniel Nosiglia #54: "I'm very happy. Both the bike and myself are in great shape. The first 200km were almost flat out, but then it got a bit more technical".
