Alfredo Gómez debuts the Rieju MR300i at Hixpania Hard Enduro with good sensations

In the town of Aguilar de Campoo, Palencia, took place the last round of the FIM Hard Enduro World Championship, with the 24MX Hixpania Hard Enduro.

The Rieju Factory Team was present with Alfredo Gómez, who on this occasion was riding the new MR300i, with the innovative electronic injection engine.

On Friday morning, the competition began with the qualifying race, Campoo X-Treme, with a 7-kilometer route along the reservoir in the area, where the presence of rain in this edition left the terrain more slippery than usual. In this time trial, Alfredo finished in sixth place, with very similar times to his opponents, highlighting the competitiveness of the new Rieju MR 300i fuel-injected model. In the afternoon, the Superencierro took place in the center of Aguilar de Campoo, on a track with artificial obstacles, although this eliminatory test did not count towards the race.

On Sunday came the main race with “El Camino Perdido”, through a spectacular and technical course of authentic Hard Enduro. Unfortunately, in the first lap Alfredo had a fall in a curve, hitting the exhaust muffler, this caused the water hose to break, forcing Alfredo to repair the bike in the middle of the course, losing half an hour, which left the rider far behind the race leader. Once the bike was repaired, Gómez went back on the attack and overtook many riders during the course to finish in 13th position.

Alfredo Gómez – Rieju Factory Team:

“Saturday's race went pretty well for us, as I finished in sixth position, very close to the riders in front. The bike worked perfectly. On Sunday, already on the first lap I had a crash and hit the exhaust with a stone, because of that, the radiator hose broke and I lost time repairing it. Finally I made a great comeback to 13th position, overtaking many riders. I am very happy with RIEJU because the fuel injected bike is getting better day by day”.
