Mireia Badia, unstoppable in the Enduro at Santiago, takes the lead in the Spanish Enduro Championship

Double victory for Mireia Badia in the 2nd round of the Spanish Enduro Championship in Santiago de Compostela, Dominik Olszowy is 4th and Alfredo Gómez 5th in Enduro-3.

The city of Santiago de Compostela held the second round of the Spanish Enduro Championship, a race that also counts towards the Galician Championship.

The traditional start of the competition began on Friday afternoon with the spectacular SuperTest, located in front of the San Lázaro stadium and next to the Paddock of the race.

On Saturday the weather played its part, with rain falling before and during the race, leaving some very slippery and delicate specials. Fortunately on Sunday it dried out.

Defending the colors of the Rieju Factory Team were Mireia Badia, Alfredo Gómez and Dominik Olszowy.

In the Women's class, Mireia Badia again demonstrated her high level and experience, making a great performance at the controls of her MR PRO; despite the state of the terrain, she knew how to control the situation, to obtain the victory both on Saturday and Sunday. After completing this second round of the championship, Badia is now the leader of the championship. Maria San Miquel, riding her Rieju MR, was third on the podium on Saturday, while on Sunday she was fourth. In the sum of the two results, San Miquel completes the third step of the podium.

In the Enduro-3 class, the Polish rider, Dominik Olszowy, was fighting throughout the race in the Top 4, to finish in fourth position on both days. For his part, Alfredo Gómez, took advantage of this race as a training for the start of the Hard Enduro World Championship, finishing seventh on Saturday, while on Sunday he improved to take fifth place in Enduro-3.

Mireia Badia:

“The weekend has been good, Saturday was more delicate because the rain complicated the race until the last lap, when it dried a little and the terrain improved in terms of grip. On Sunday it didn't rain, so the terrain was in a better condition from the start, in spite of this, it had degraded, there were many stones, roots, etc. Anyway, I'm happy with how the race went and how I found myself in the special stages. Thanks for the good work of the team”.

The third round of the Spanish Enduro Championship 2024 will be held in Infiesto, Asturias, on June 8 and 9.
