A result that goes far beyond the classification: it confirms that RIEJU's commitment to rally raid has solid technical foundations and a future.
What makes this participation truly remarkable is the comparison. In the Moroccan desert, Castellà took on the 450s, the bikes that dominate the discipline, with a smaller-displacement, lighter machine built to endure.
Where others rely on raw power, the Rally 307 responded with agility, handling and a reliability that allowed it to complete every day of one of the toughest events on the world calendar.
Dunes, fast rocky tracks and long navigation days pushed both rider and bike to the test. And that was precisely the objective: to take the Rally 307 to the limit in real world-championship conditions, validate every component and gather first-hand information for its development.
Having the chief engineer himself riding the bike gives this project a distinctive value. Every kilometre covered in Morocco translates directly into knowledge for RIEJU's R&D department.
August Castellà:
"We were warned it would be the toughest edition of the Rallye du Maroc, and they were right… The rally pushed bikes and riders to the limit, as the huge number of retirements shows. I'm very happy to have made it to the finish. The bike performed brilliantly, withstanding the harsh conditions of the rally, and I'm proud to have represented the RIEJU team in this way."
With this step, RIEJU strengthens its presence in international rally raid with a project of its own: a bike that, in one of the toughest editions in memory, reached the finish where many others fell by the wayside. The Rally 307 has shown that it is possible to compete at another level through agility, reliability and a solid technical base, and the knowledge gained in Morocco will shape the next stages of its development.
