VICTORIES FOR Rachel Gutish AND Rosie Rowett AT THE ENDUROGP WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP IN OLIANA

Rachel Gutish leads the Women’s EnduroGP World Championship

The EnduroGP World Championship held its second round in Spain, specifically in Oliana (Lleida), in an event very well organized by the Moto Club Oliana. Despite some light rain on Saturday, the conditions left the terrain in perfect shape for racing.

SuperTest: Gutish 3rd, Rowett 4th and San Miguel 5th

Strong performance from the Rieju Factory Team in the Women’s class in front of a large crowd of fans. Rachel Gutish set the third-fastest time in the category, just fractions behind the winner, followed by her teammate Rosie Rowett in fourth place, with María San Miguel completing the top five. These results already hinted at a promising weekend.

Rachel Gutish, Rosie Rowett and María San Miguel among the best

On Saturday, with damp terrain after the rainfall, American rider Rachel Gutish delivered a solid race, building momentum throughout the day. After the third special test, she moved into the lead—a position she maintained until the finish, securing a brilliant victory and bouncing back from a difficult opening round in Italy.

She was followed by Britain’s Rosie Rowett, who seems to have regained her competitiveness after recovering from injury. Rowett posted some of the fastest times in several special tests, earning second place and securing a one-two finish for Rieju.

In the same category, María San Miguel fought hard throughout the race, setting strong times and even winning one of the special tests, ultimately finishing in an impressive fifth position.

Sunday: Rowett dominates, Gutish fights through illness

On Sunday, with drier terrain, dust became more of a factor in the special tests. Rosie Rowett delivered an outstanding performance, claiming nearly all the fastest times of the day, only missing one stage victory in the Enduro Test. She dominated the class, finishing 27 seconds ahead of the second-place rider.

Her teammate Rachel Gutish started slower than usual due to illness, but gradually increased her pace, especially in the final special tests, to secure third place on the podium—just 1.43 seconds behind second place.

María San Miguel finished eighth on the second day.

Championship standings

After two rounds, Rachel Gutish leads the Women’s EnduroGP World Championship with a total of 67 points. Rosie Rowett sits fourth with 51 points, just one point behind third and two behind second. María San Miguel is currently ninth with 33 points.

Double second place for Jordi Galera in Open2S

Jordi Galera, competing in the Open2S class, faced a strong rival in Oliana, battling throughout the weekend for the top spot. On Saturday, he finished second, +37:01 behind the winner. On Sunday, the fight continued, with Galera again taking second place, this time just +12:23 behind. With these results, he remains the clear provisional leader of the Open2S class with 74 points.

Positive improvement for Liam Sanjuan in Junior J1

Meanwhile, Liam Sanjuan finished Saturday in 11th place in the J1 class and 25th overall in Junior. On Sunday, he improved his performance, climbing to 9th in J1 and 21st in Junior. He is now 12th overall in the provisional J1 standings with 16 points.

The 2026 EnduroGP World Championship continues later this month with the third round in Salpausselkä (Finland), from May 22 to 24.

Rachel Gutish:

“I’m very happy with the result at the Spanish GP. I had a great performance on the first day, getting my first win of the season! Unfortunately, I woke up very sick on Sunday. I pushed through and still finished third, although it was very tough for me. The most important thing is that we leave with the points lead and the red plate.”
