A fantastic season finale in the Spanish Enduro Championship in Almería, where the Rieju Factory Team, together with the riders supported by the brand, rounded off an excellent year for Rieju.
The small town of Huércal-Overa, in the province of Almería, hosted the fifth and final round of the year. At 8 p.m. on Friday, the event kicked off with an exciting Super Test in the town centre, where Àlex Puey secured the seventh-best scratch time and third in Enduro1.
As is tradition in this area, the terrain was extremely dry and dusty, with slippery special tests that deteriorated as riders passed through, making it increasingly difficult to set fast times.
Àlex Puey Clinches the Prestigious Enduro1 Title
On Saturday, Àlex Puey came out attacking and placed himself provisionally in second position in the Enduro1 class. However, as the specials progressed, he dropped the pace slightly and finished the day in third place—a result that still kept him in the lead of the category, his clear objective. On Sunday, he knew he needed to stay fast without taking unnecessary risks, repeating the third-place podium finish and, most importantly, securing a dream title as Spanish Enduro1 Champion!
Yago Domínguez Secures the Junior Open Title on Saturday
Among the other riders supported by Rieju competing with the new Rieju MR models, Yago Domínguez started the race strongly in the Junior Open class. From the second lap onwards, he focused on attacking hard, setting some of the best times to take the category win and earning the necessary points to claim the title ahead of Sunday’s final day. His teammate Jordi Galera, battling closely with Domínguez, claimed second place on the podium.
On Sunday, with the Junior Open title already secured, Yago once again attacked from the start, achieving most of the best times in the specials and naturally earning another victory in Almería. Jordi Galera repeated his result, completing another one-two finish and securing the title of Spanish Junior Open Runner-Up.
More Wins and Titles for Rieju Riders
In the TN Junior class, Juan Rey had a strong performance on Saturday, finishing in second position. But it was on Sunday where he excelled, setting the best time in 5 of the day’s 6 special tests to claim his first victory of the season. With this result, he finishes third overall in the championship standings for his category.
On Saturday, there was a one-two finish in the Master 55 class, with victory for Josep Marsal and second place for Javier Castejón. On Sunday, the results were identical, with another win for Marsal and another second place for Castejón. With these brilliant performances, Josep Marsal takes home the championship title and Javier Castejón finishes as Spanish Runner-Up.
Among the Women’s category, María San Miguel finished second on Saturday, coming very close to taking the victory. On Sunday, María once again battled against her main rival in an intense fight, but ultimately had to settle for another second place—results that leave her just one point shy of the title, rounding off a demanding season with another Spanish Runner-Up finish.
Statements
Àlex Puey:
“Honestly I’m very happy—we are Spanish Champions, a dream come true. Winning the Enduro1 class is a big achievement. It's true that Josep García had an issue in the first race of the year, but we had to be there and there were many of us fighting for the title. In the end, I was the one who took it. We’ve done a great job this weekend, managed things the way we had to, and achieved a great result. So I’m very happy—thanks to the whole team for the support.”
Yago Domínguez:
“I came into the last race leading with a 14-point advantage. On Saturday we started strong, and in the second test the rider I was battling for the title with had a technical issue, so we ended up taking the championship. Still, I kept pushing and fighting with my teammate Galera, finishing the race with a win and securing the title. On Sunday, without the pressure of the championship, I went out attacking again and managed to win once more and finish with a strong scratch position.”
Miquel García – Rieju Factory Team Manager:
“Once again we’ve completed a very positive season in the Spanish Enduro Championship, following our successes in the EnduroGP World Championship. It’s clear that the new MR 300i has helped us achieve these outstanding results. Our bikes have proven to be extremely competitive and reliable in the hands of the riders. We’ve worked incredibly hard to keep improving both in the factory and at every race, and we are very satisfied with the results. These titles are a huge victory for Rieju and a reward for the team’s hard work. We’ll keep pushing full gas.”
The Rieju Factory Team closes a season in the Spanish Enduro Championship full of success and satisfaction with the performance of the new Rieju MR300i in the hands of our riders. Thank you all—and in 2026, even more and even better!
